Recommend The first few chapters alone are worth a few bucks... thinking specifically of the chapter about monthly maintenance made easy, checking your fluids and other basic wear and tear. Will you save you a fortune in the long run, plus it's just nice to know those sorts of things.This is actually the second time that I bought this ... This is actually the second time that I bought this book because I lost my first copy. I've never been much of a fan of the "For Dummies" series, but this book is an exception. Although it will not make you a Master mechanic, it will supply you with enough information so that you at least can navigate yourself throughout the Auto World and make sure that you don't get screwed by other people. It covers a lot of things: how to give the car basic service needs, how the engine and drivetrain work, and even some tips on how to buy a car properly. Definitely worth the price and at least a one-time read.Perfect for beginners! I don't know diddly squat about cars but always wanted to learn. I had no one to teach me, so what am I to do? I saw this book and read the reviews and I had to have it. Not even a dozen pages in and you're already running to your car checking under the hood! It tells you exactly how to do everything, from the most basic to the slightly more advanced. So even a dummy (lol) can do it. This book should be given to everyone when they purchase their first car. It'll save you a ton of money and hassle! The first day I was reading I found out my oil was low and that I had possibly the world's dirtiest cabin air filter. Not anymore!
